The right help depends on who runs the meeting. A Jitsi link might belong to the public meet.jit.si service, your employer’s private server or an application using Jitsi as a Service (JaaS).
Choose the right contact
| What you need | Start here | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Invitation link, meeting time, room password or lobby admission | The person who invited you | They control the invitation and meeting access. |
| A problem on your company’s meeting server | Its administrator or help desk | They can check the server, accounts and organization-specific configuration. |
| Help learning Jitsi or understanding an upstream feature | The official handbook and community | These are the project’s documentation and discussion routes. |
| Help with an application using JaaS | The application provider; JaaS account resources for its operator | The application controls its users and invitations. |
| Paid setup or troubleshooting for a self-hosted server | An independent Jitsi engineering provider | They can agree an investigation or implementation scope with the server owner. |
If you are trying to attend a meeting
Ask your organizer to confirm the complete meeting link, including the domain. Send the exact prompt you see: for example, waiting for a moderator, a password request or waiting in a lobby.
If the organizer can join but you cannot, tell them your device and browser and whether you are using the web or an app. If several participants fail in the same way, the organizer can pass that pattern to their server administrator.
Start with our meeting guide or login and password explanations. For camera or microphone problems, use the device troubleshooting guide.
Official Jitsi documentation and community
The project’s Getting help page directs people to the community and documentation. The official handbook covers meeting users, developers and self-hosting. Its community link goes to the Jitsi community forum.
Search for an existing discussion before posting. Explain what you expected, what happened, the deployment type and the versions involved. Include a short, sanitized error excerpt rather than an entire configuration file. Volunteer discussions do not come with a response-time promise.
For a suspected vulnerability, follow the private reporting route linked from Jitsi’s security page. Avoid publishing sensitive exploit details in an ordinary support thread.
JaaS or Jitsi embedded in another app
If you use a course platform or another application with embedded Jitsi, ask that application’s support team first. They control the invitations, login flow and integration.
If you operate the integration, start with your JaaS account and the documentation or support options available for your account. The public community, JaaS and an independent self-hosting provider serve different support needs.
Independent paid help from Jitsi Help
Jitsi Help is operated by Rexxu Labs. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by 8x8 or the Jitsi project. Our services cover private-server setup, recording, transcription, JWT integration, scaling and maintenance.
Use our contact form to describe a self-hosted server problem. We review the request and reply with a proposed scope and quote. See support and maintenance for service details or one-click hosting if you want a private deployment in your AWS account.
We cannot admit you to another organization’s meeting or provide its private passwords. The organizer or server owner is the right contact for those requests.
Information to include in a server-support request
- The deployment method and Jitsi release, if known.
- The exact symptom and when it began.
- Whether every user, one device or only larger meetings are affected.
- The browser, operating system and any recent configuration change.
- A short error excerpt with passwords, API keys, tokens and private participant details removed.
Share access arrangements only after the support scope and recipient are agreed. Do not include cloud credentials in an initial enquiry.
